According to the reflection of residents living in Me Tri ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi, in 2014, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the project to build a road connecting Do Duc Duc street to Me Tri street (Me Tri ward, Nam Tu Liem district) with a length of about 828.58m. The project officially started construction in 2017, with the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District as the investor, with a total investment of more than 264 billion VND. Up to now, the project has almost stalled and is becoming a garbage collection point, a place to sell shops, affecting people's lives.

Mr. Le Anh Dung (residing in Dong Me, Me Tri) said: "On sunny days it is dusty, on rainy days the roads turn into large puddles of water, very dangerous".

Sharing the same frustration, Ms. Vi Thi Thuy (residing in Me Tri Ha) reflected: "Not only are construction materials scattered, but shops also sell them encroaching on all the paths. In particular, the area in front of Me Tri Ward People's Committee has become a place for garbage collection, causing environmental pollution".

From readers' feedback, on March 25, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded the reality along the route, in addition to encroachment on parking lots, construction materials trading and shops, some points have also turned into large puddles, not ensuring safety for passersby. Many people living here said that on rainy days, the road becomes muddy, slippery and smelly; on sunny days, it is covered with dust, seriously affecting people's health and lives.
It is known that the road connecting Do Duc Duc Street to Me Tri Street is one of the five framework routes of Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee. However, up to now, the project has only completed about 30% of the work.

According to the representative of the Nam Tu Liem District Construction Investment Management Board, the reason for the project's delay is that during the implementation process, there were many changes in mechanisms, policies and regulations related to site clearance. Therefore, to date, the site clearance has not been completed.
The representative of the Management Board said that the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District is currently directing relevant departments, offices, units and contractors to actively coordinate to speed up the project progress, ensure quality, safety and comply with the provisions of law.
