On September 10, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the construction site of the rest stop on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section in Cam Hung commune is being accelerated by Xuan Khiem Group Joint Stock Company.
Dozens of machines, trucks and many workers are focusing on construction in hot weather.
Through observation, the gas station and the toilet system on both sides (both North - South and South - North) of this rest stop have been basically completed.
The guardrails on both sides of the expressway in front of the rest stop have also been removed so that the contractor can construct asphalt paving connecting the expressway with the parking lot of the rest stop.
This is a rest stop with an area of 10 hectares (5 hectares on each side), and will be implemented from April 2025.
Mr. Dinh Van Bay - Deputy General Director of Xuan Khiem Group - said that the project has basically completed the construction of the gas station and the toilet system.
In the coming days, the unit will focus on asphalt paving to plan to exploit temporary rest stops in both directions here in 10 days.
According to Mr. Bay, it is a temporary rest stop but basically meets good requirements for rest stopping, including a storage area that can accommodate about 200 cars to park on a paved yard, with a fuel station, a restaurant, and a guaranteed restroom.
"As for the overall project, we strive to complete it a few months ahead of schedule, officially exploiting it around April 2026", Mr. Bay shared.
Currently, the rest stop on the expressway section Dien Chau - Bai Vot in Duc Quang commune (Ha Tinh province) with an area of 6 hectares (3 hectares on each side) won the bid by the consortium of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) - Thua Thien Hue National Petroleum Company is also under construction.
The North-South expressway project in the East passing through Ha Tinh has a total length of more than 107 km with 4 component projects in 2 phases 2017 - 2020 (Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway) and phase 2021 - 2025 ( Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung expressways).
Currently, all 4 component projects of the expressway through Ha Tinh have been put into operation, of which the Vung Ang - Bung section will be put into operation no later than August 28.
On the expressway through Ha Tinh, there are 2 rest stops located in Duc Quang and Cam Hung communes.
