At noon on November 3, floodwaters began to rise on the road from Cam Lien intersection (Cam Hong commune) to Le Thuy commune. Many households here urgently clean up and raise their assets to cope with floods.
Mr. Le Duc Thang (residing in Xuan Hoi village, Le Thuy commune) said that the water started to flood into his house from 1am the same day. All night, the family of 4 stayed up all night to move furniture and machinery to higher ground.

"My family makes glass aluminum, there are machines that weigh tons, worth hundreds of millions of VND. Every flood season, we have to use a net to pull the machine up high and move our belongings to avoid damage. The whole family had to work all night to finish it, Mr. Thang shared.
According to records, the rain in Le Thuy commune has not stopped, the water level shows signs of continuing to rise. Many households in low-lying areas are isolated, some sections of the road can only be moved by boat.
The Civil Defense Command of Le Thuy commune said that due to prolonged heavy rain, the water level of Kien Giang river exceeded the alarm level, causing local flooding in many residential areas. By the morning of November 3, the whole commune had more than 400 flooded houses, mainly in Mai Ha, Phu Tho, Tan Le, Thuong Phong, Thuong Giang villages.

Traffic routes in the area are almost paralyzed, many sections are flooded over 80cm deep. Road 30 had a landslide on a slope about 100m long, making it almost impossible to travel by car or motorbike. People have to use small boats to reach the central area or transport necessities.
The whole commune currently has 23 schools with more than 7,700 students. Due to floodwaters flooding into the schoolyard, many schools were deeply flooded. The government has directed all students to stay home from school to ensure safety.

The Le Thuy commune government has activated an early warning system, regularly informing about flood developments through loudspeakers, social networks and community groups. Shock troops are deployed 24/7 to support people in evacuating their assets and prepare evacuation plans when the water level continues to rise.
Prolonged heavy rain and rapidly rising water have caused people here to enter the familiar "flood running" season. For households with machinery and valuable assets like Mr. Thang's family, using a net to pull a machine weighing a ton up has become a way to save themselves in the fierce flood.
