Ha Tinh - Storm No. 5 broke many electric poles and broke medium voltage wires, causing nearly 400,000 customers in Ha Tinh to lose power.

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, the power system in Ha Tinh province suffered serious damage. A series of power poles were broken, medium and low voltage wires fell, causing widespread power outages in many areas.

According to Ha Tinh Power Company (PC Ha Tinh), by 5:30 p.m. on August 25, the whole province recorded 72 power lines and 2,619/4,110 transformer stations without power, affecting 396,879 out of a total of 491,497 customers. The incident spread to 52/69 communes and wards across the province.

Currently, heavy rain and strong winds continue, causing great obstacles for inspection and incident handling. PC Ha Tinh has mobilized 100% of its forces to be on duty, organize inspections of the level of power grid damage, arrange human resources at vulnerable points, and be ready to fix the problem when conditions allow.

Mr. Pham Viet Thang - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of PC Ha Tinh said that the unit is closely monitoring the weather situation, prioritizing the restoration of power supply as soon as possible to people, businesses and essential facilities.

Ha Tinh Power Company also recommends that people be vigilant and ensure safe use of electricity during the rainy and stormy season; when there are signs of flooding, they need to proactively turn off the power source in the family, avoid contact with electrical equipment when their hands are wet or standing in a damp place.
