On the morning of August 30th, at Lam Son Square, Hac Thanh ward, Thanh Hoa province, thousands of people participated in the "Joining Vietnam to Advance" walking program in 2026, responding to activities organized simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities across the country.

The program has the participation of officers and soldiers of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command; civil servants, public employees, teachers, students and people from 7 wards; along with lecturers and students of Hong Duc University.
After the launching signal, representatives of the leaders of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, along with officials and people from all walks, walked on the streets of Hac Thanh ward, responding to the message "10 billion green steps - For a sustainable Vietnam".
The activity aims to spread the spirit of moving forward for a united and strong Vietnam, towards celebrating National Day September 2nd; and at the same time encourage people to exercise, build a dynamic lifestyle, protect the environment and enhance responsibility to the community.


According to the Organizing Committee, at Thanh Hoa bridge point, as of 8 am on August 30, there were 7,881 participants, contributing 9,056,497 steps.
The program "Joining Vietnam to Advance" in 2026 is co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security, with the companionship of the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The program is implemented in 34 provinces and cities and nearly 3,000 communes, wards, and special zones nationwide, with the message "10 billion green steps - For a sustainable Vietnam".
At the end of the program, the whole country recorded 1,774,268 participants, contributing 10,068,000,515 steps.
