On September 22, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan directed departments, branches and localities to inspect, handle, clear, relocate, and completely eliminate spontaneous markets in the area.
In recent times, the arrangement of traders and traders to trade in commune-level markets has been seriously implemented, contributing to urban beautification and building civilized and modern new rural areas.

However, recently in some communes and wards, there have been market gatherings on the road, causing loss of aesthetics, order and potential risks of traffic accidents.
From the incident of a truck crashing into Tan Long banana market (Lao Bao commune, Quang Tri province) on the morning of September 17 that killed 3 people and injured many others, the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the commune level to increase propaganda and raise people's awareness of traffic safety and order (ATGT); at the same time, requested organizations and individuals to sign a commitment not to encroach on roads, sidewalks, and traffic corridors to illegally gather at the market.
"The Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune or ward must be responsible for any traffic congestion or accident caused by people encroaching on the roadway, sidewalk, or road safety corridor to illegally hold a market meeting," the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
The Chairman assigned the Department of Construction, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Police, and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to coordinate with localities to inspect and strictly handle violations. Communes and wards strictly manage markets along the road; arrange reasonably and conveniently for traders and people to move inside the market to buy and sell, end the situation of selling outside and encroaching on the road.
