On July 22, at Huong Hoa Martyrs' Cemetery, the Party Committee, government and people of Khe Sanh commune (Quang Tri province) solemnly organized a ceremony to pay respects, commemorate and bury two sets of remains of martyrs found and exhumed by the Team for Repatriation of Martyrs' Remains (Economic - National Defense Team 337).
In front of the spirits of the heroic martyrs, delegates and a large number of officials and people respectfully laid wreaths, offered incense, observed a minute of silence to commemorate and express their deep gratitude to the children who bravely sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
In a solemn atmosphere, leaders of Khe Sanh commune read the eulogy reminiscing about the glorious revolutionary tradition, affirming that the noble sacrifice of the heroic martyrs will forever be a bright example for today's and future generations. Bringing them back to rest at Huong Hoa Martyrs' Cemetery shows the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", soothing the pain of war and meeting the earnest wishes of the relatives of the martyrs' families.
After the memorial service, the task forces performed the ritual of moving and burying the two martyrs' remains at Huong Hoa Martyrs' Cemetery according to the ritual, ensuring solemnity and thoughtfulness.
Previously, in response to the "500 days and nights" campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains, the Repatriation Team of Martyrs' remains (KT-QP 337) deployed forces to successfully exhume two martyrs' remains in Huong Lap commune. Both found remains were carefully wrapped in the martyr's body bags, accompanied by many battlefield artifacts such as parachute fabric, parachute cords, buttons, glass tubes, pens, information wires and AK bullet casings.
