According to the review results of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Quang Ninh branch (VBSP), after storm Yagi, 12,709 loan customers were affected with a total amount of more than 741 billion VND, accounting for 15.2% of the branch's total outstanding loans.
Damage was mainly concentrated in the fields of aquaculture and forestry in the localities of Ha Long, Quang Yen, Van Don and Ba Che.
After reviewing and assessing the damage, the People's Credit Fund has implemented support solutions to help borrowers restore production and stabilize their lives.
To date, VND 725 billion has been disbursed to 9,014 customers. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the total disbursed amount will reach about VND 850 billion.
In particular, the loan program to support production development according to Decision No. 33/2024/QD-UBND dated September 13, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee has disbursed to 2,957 households with an amount of VND 260 billion.
The People's Credit Fund also provides other support such as: Not collecting loan interest for 87,854 affected customers, the expected interest amount not collected by the end of 2024 is about 73 billion VND.
Adjust the repayment period for 40,734 customers with the amount of 345 billion VND. Extend the repayment period for 245 customers with the amount of 10.5 billion VND. Request the authorities to consider debt forgiveness for 361 loans with the total amount of 25.8 billion VND.
