On the night of July 13, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Luu Trung Kien - Secretary of Xuan Ai commune, Lao Cai province said that the unit is mobilizing local forces with vehicles and machinery to approach the scene of the landslide that buried a house.

At around 10:00 p.m. on July 13, a serious landslide occurred in the area of Hiep Thao's family in Khe Que village, Xuan Ai commune, Lao Cai province (Khe Que village, Vien Son commune, Van Yen district, the old Yen Bai province).

At that time, rocks and soil from the back of the house suddenly collapsed, burying the family's level 4 house.

The Secretary of Xuan Ai commune said that as soon as the information was received, the units were present at the scene. However, due to the risk of further landslides, it is necessary to bring machinery to the scene.

"We have determined that there are victims buried in the rubble, but at present we cannot determine exactly how many people there are," Mr. Luu Trung Kien added.

According to people living nearby, there are currently two mothers and children living in Hiep Thao's family. It is unclear how many victims were buried.
