According to information from the Ha Long Bay Management Board, the peak period of waste collection after storm No. 3 (YAGI) is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1: 3-day beach cleaning campaign from September 14 to September 17, 2024. Phase 2: Increased garbage collection from September 18 to September 25, 2024.
The peak period aims to overcome the situation of garbage causing loss of aesthetics and environmental pollution after storm No. 3 (YAGI) in the world natural heritage area of Ha Long Bay. Mobilize maximum human resources, equipment and means to collect garbage and clean up the environment on and along the shore of Ha Long Bay.
The "3-day cleaning of Ha Long Bay" campaign mobilized the participation of about 200 officials, employees, armed forces and tourism service businesses on the bay, along with 50 vehicles for collecting and transporting waste.
At the end of the campaign, the units collected nearly 70 bamboo rafts and about 300m³ of waste, including tree branches, foam buoys, and household waste.
This is a continuation of the 7-day and night campaign to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 in Ha Long City. Thereby, it contributes to restoring the landscape of the heritage - wonder of Ha Long Bay, attracting tourists.
