On December 21, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee submitted a proposal to the Government Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Ministry of Finance to report to competent authorities to support the locality with nearly 1,200 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Accordingly, Lam Dong province proposed to be supported with more than 444 billion VND to restore emergency works; 744 billion VND to repair and restore essential infrastructure headquarters; and more than 1.1 billion VND to prevent epidemics after natural disasters and floods.
According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the locality has experienced 38 heavy rains with thunderstorms, whirlwinds, lightning, strong gusts of wind, floods... causing 17 deaths and 21 injuries.
Natural disasters caused more than 20,000 houses to collapse, have their roofs blown off, or be damaged; about 27,700 hectares of crops of all kinds were affected; 63,000 livestock and poultry were killed or swept away; 182 hectares of greenhouses and greenhouses had their roofs blown off.
Natural disasters caused landslides on 6.2km of riverbanks and coasts; 77 items of traffic and irrigation works; 565 landslides; 68 fishing boats sank and were damaged; 6 welcome gates collapsed; 22 electric poles were broken.
In addition, there have been many landslides in Lam Dong province, causing damage to many bridges, culverts and traffic roads.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, natural disasters have caused damage to the locality of about 1,840 billion VND. Of which, there were 3 heavy rains that caused severe impacts on people, agriculture, property and infrastructure in the province, including October 26-31; November 16-25; December 3-8.
In response to the damage caused by natural disasters, the Prime Minister has directed Lam Dong province to support 500 billion VND to help the locality repair and overcome the damage caused by floods.
