On March 4, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with relevant agencies to consider the design plan for the bypass route to Da Lat city and Lam Dong.

Accordingly, the Da Lat City bypass project has been approved by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council in 2023 with a length of 9.5km.
The starting point of the bypass is the Prenn Pass foot, Ward 3, Da Lat city and the end point intersects with National Highway 20, in Da Quy village, Xuan Tho commune, Da Lat city.
After the survey, the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board proposed 2 options for building a bypass.
In which, option 1, the route is designed with 6 overpasses with a total length of 780m to cross the terrain with many slopes. In this plan, the Da Lat city bypass has a total length of 9.4km, with an investment capital of about 655 billion VND.
According to the assessment, this option has a low investment level but the volume of land to be dug is 2.1 million m3; the area occupied for site clearance is about 35 hectares, of which the forest area is about 19 hectares.

For option 2, the bypass has a total length of about 10km, 6 locations for building overpasses, with a total investment of about 730 billion VND.
The area of encroached land clearance is about 32 hectares, of which the forest area is about 18 hectares.
