On the morning of May 29, information from Quang Ha Commune People's Committee said that Quang Ha Commune Police are coordinating with functional units to investigate and verify the incident that occurred at a service swimming pool in the campus of Nguyen Du High School, Ngo Quyen village, Quang Ha commune.
According to initial information, at about 3:30 pm on May 28, functional forces received a report about three children fainting while swimming at a swimming pool in the campus of Nguyen Du High School, in Ngo Quyen village, Quang Ha commune.
The victims include: Nguyen Duc T. (born in 2013), Nguyen Duc Ph. (born in 2017), all residing in Quang Chinh 2 village, Quang Ha commune; and Nguyen Thien C. (born in 2017), residing in Ba Che commune, Quang Ninh province.
Through working with Mr. Vi Dinh Minh (born in 1963, residing in Quang Ha commune), the owner of the swimming pool and the person directly in charge at the time of the incident, functional agencies determined that at that time there were 5 children swimming in the pool. After that, Mr. Minh discovered 3 unconscious children.

Immediately after discovering the incident, Mr. Minh and some workers who were constructing in the school grounds and school teachers brought the children ashore for first aid, and at the same time transferred them to Mong Cai General Hospital - Facility 2 for emergency treatment.
According to information from the treating doctor, Nguyen Duc T. was admitted to the hospital in a state of circulatory arrest and cardiac arrest, doctors and nurses actively resuscitated him before transferring him to Quang Ninh Provincial General Hospital for further treatment.
Baby Nguyen Duc Ph. was diagnosed with respiratory failure, choking pneumonia and has been transferred to a higher level for treatment. Baby Nguyen Thien C. is currently in stable health and is continuing to be monitored at the Department of Pediatrics.
During the scene examination, Quang Ha Commune Police coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting force of Quang Ninh Provincial Police to inspect the swimming pool roof area and discovered electricity running through the metal pillars of the sunshade corrugated iron roof.
Functional forces used electricity testing equipment and recorded electricity in this area.
Initially, functional agencies determined that the incident was suspected to be related to electrical leakage.
Currently, the police agency has summoned relevant individuals to work to serve the investigation and clarify the cause of the incident.
