Prestigious people contribute to changing the way of life in the village
Lien Son Lak is a difficult area, the economy mainly depends on agriculture, so people's income is still low. The commune has 31 hamlets, of which 24 are ethnic minority hamlets.
In these villages, in the past, there were outdated customs and old ways of life, affecting the overall development of the community.

In that context, the role of prestigious people is further affirmed. They are people who understand customs, understand thoughts and, more importantly, gain the trust of the people.
Mr. Y Doai Du (born in 1961, a prestigious person in Lien Son Lak commune) is one of the typical faces. Understanding the lives of people, he realized that if they did not change their lifestyle and encourage education, poverty would continue to haunt people for a long time.
Therefore, he spent a lot of time visiting each household to encourage young people to limit alcohol, work hard, maintain discipline in daily life, and set clear goals for the future. In particular, he emphasized the importance of studying and encouraged children to attend school fully.
During conversations in the village, Mr. Y Ner Lieng - another prestigious person - always shared frankly and sincerely: "To escape poverty, first of all, the family must love each other, eliminate bad customs, and maintain cultural discipline. It is this simplicity but depth that has touched many young families".
The case of Ms. Ham Du (40 years old) is a typical example. Despite being a poor household and raising young children, she persistently sends her children to school after being encouraged by the village elders and prestigious people.
She understands that studying is the most important way for the next generation to have the opportunity to step into a wider world. Thanks to the exemplary nature of this team, the appearance of the village has changed a lot.
Security and order are maintained, life is better, spacious houses are built, and more motorbikes are appearing.
In particular, children go to school more fully than 5 years ago. These advances clearly demonstrate the role of those who "listen to the people, make the people believe" in the process of building a civilized and modern lifestyle.

Continuing to promote the role of prestigious people in the new period
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune, the whole commune currently has dozens of prestigious people participating in activities in ethnic minority villages and hamlets.
When the government system is organized according to a streamlined and efficient model, their role becomes even more important.

In recent years, village elders, village chiefs and prestigious people have actively worked with local authorities to implement the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2025.
They are a "connector" to bring policies and guidelines to the people in a familiar and easy-to-understand way. At the same time, they encourage people to abandon bad customs, apply science and technology to production, and change their perception in building a civilized life.

Mr. Y Tho Mlo - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of Lien Son Lak commune affirmed: "Preditable people play a particularly important role in local socio-economic development. They are people trusted by the people, their words have weight, so the government can help them spread policies and guidelines to ethnic minorities effectively".
He said that the local government hopes that this force will continue to promote a sense of responsibility, experience and understanding of customs and practices in the coming time.
They coordinated with the transaction office of the Lak Social Policy Bank to create conditions for poor and near-poor households to borrow production capital to contribute to economic development to gradually escape poverty.
They also coordinate with the government in reviewing and making a list of year-end social security support, ensuring timely support for poor, near-poor households and disadvantaged groups. Coordinate the implementation of poverty reduction policies, vocational training, and job creation for rural workers.

For Lien Son Lak commune, prestigious people are not only the " starting spirit" of the village but also a factor that helps the locality gradually overcome challenges, towards sustainable development.
When new knowledge is spread, a civilized lifestyle is gradually taking shape, each hamlet will have a solid foundation to constantly innovate, rising to become civilized and beautiful countrysides.
