On August 26, Ky Anh Medical Center (Ha Tinh Hospital) received two patients in a coma, suspected of CO suffocation, including Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (born in 1946) and Mr. Tran Huu A. (born in 1951), both residing in Dong Phu village, Ky Anh commune.
According to initial information, due to the impact of storm No. 5, there was a power outage in Ky Anh commune. On the evening of August 25, Mrs. T.'s family started a generator to use fans, lighting and other equipment, after which the two slept in the house.
The generator was placed in the hallway but connected to the bedroom. When the outside exploded, the exhaust gas spread into the room, causing both of them to suffocate and fall into a coma.
On the morning of August 26, the family discovered the critical condition of Ms. T. and Mr. A., so they immediately took them to Ky Anh Medical Center for emergency care.
According to the leader of Ky Anh Medical Center, when admitted, both patients were in a state of drowsiness and difficulty breathing. After initial emergency care, the patients were transferred to the Provincial General Hospital for further emergency care and treatment.
