Binh Thuan - Border guards used canoes to expand the search area for a male tourist who went missing after being swept away by waves.

On the morning of February 6, the search for a male tourist who was swept away by waves while swimming at Doi Duong beach (Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province) continued after search efforts on the afternoon of February 5 and throughout the night were unsuccessful.

On the shore, staff of the Doi Duong - Tien Thanh Tourist Area Management Board divided into groups, continuously walking along the coast to observe and search.

Earlier, at noon on February 5, a group of tourists (working in Ho Chi Minh City) went to Phan Thiet for a vacation. While swimming at Doi Duong beach, two people drowned: Nguyen Xuan L (born in 2005, residing in Hue city) and Truong Quang T (born in 2000, residing in Quang Nam province).

People promptly discovered and rescued Mr. L to shore. Mr. L's health is currently stable. The remaining victim, Mr. T, was swept away by the waves and went missing.

Due to the weather conditions with big waves, Thanh Hai Border Guard Station mobilized fishermen's boats and officers and soldiers to join the search for victims at sea. At the same time, many forces joined the search along the coast in the afternoon of the same day and continuously throughout the night until the morning of February 6, but still had no results.
