In the early morning of July 6, heavy rain occurred in many communes in Lao Cai province, causing flooding and landslides. Water flooded 62 houses and swept away 1 temporary bridge.

The Office of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just reported on the situation on July 6, 2026.

Regarding the work of ensuring pontoon bridges, the report said that the Ministry of National Defense continued to mobilize 160 officers and soldiers and 90 vehicles of all kinds, maintaining the operation of the Lo River pontoon bridge, ensuring safety for 2,176 passengers and vehicles.

Regarding the natural disaster situation, the report said that from 8:00 PM on July 5th to 6:00 AM on July 6th, in Van Nhan, Thien Tam, Dong Dang, Kien Loc, Mau Son communes, Lang Son province, prolonged heavy rain caused flooding and landslides in 1 location of the upstream slope.

The incident flooded 8 houses (Van Nham: 3, Thien Tan: 5). Communes have sent militiamen to stretch ropes and place warning signs in the spillway areas and not allow people and vehicles to pass, and the water has receded.

The locality mobilized 328 people (Army: 52, Militia: 276), coordinating with local forces to help people overcome the consequences.

Also regarding the natural disaster situation, from the night of July 5 to 11:00 am on July 6, in Hong Nhat hamlet, Ban Khau commune, Thinh Nguyen commune, Ha Lang commune, Cao Bang province, heavy rain caused flooding and landslides.

The incident caused 30 households to be flooded (Hong Nhat hamlet), a 20m negative taluy landslide at the headquarters of the Military Command (CHQS) of Ha Lang commune and 2 inter-commune and village road points of about 370m3, currently the water has receded. The locality mobilized 15 people to coordinate with local forces to help people overcome the consequences.

At 6:30 PM on July 5th, in Phu Loi hamlet, Binh Phu commune, Dong Thap province, a landslide of about 80m2 along the Tay Phu An river occurred. The locality mobilized 7 people to coordinate with local forces to help people overcome the consequences.

In the early morning of July 6, in Che Tao, Xi Ma Cai, Khao Mang, Mu Cang Chai, Pha Long communes, Lao Cai province, heavy rain caused flooding and landslides. The incident caused water to overflow into 62 houses and swept away 1 temporary bridge. The locality mobilized 380 people (Army: 30, Militia: 250, other forces: 100) to help people overcome the consequences.

In the early morning of July 6, in Pu Dao village, Le Loi commune, Lai Chau province, a flood occurred, killing 1 person (Sung Thi Chi, born in 1981). The locality mobilized 42 people (Army: 02, Militia: 10, other forces: 30), search forces. By 10:00 am on July 6, the body was found and handed over to the family.

Regarding the fire, the report said that at 4:30 pm on July 5, at Binh Tho Trung post, An Thanh Thuy commune, Dong Thap province, a fire occurred at about 110m2 of a house, due to an electrical short circuit. The locality mobilized 6 people to coordinate with local forces to extinguish the fire at 6:00 pm on the same day.

At 5:30 PM on July 5th, in Truong Thinh residential group, Van Xuan ward, Thai Nguyen province, a fire occurred at about 200m2 of warehouse, the cause is being verified. The locality mobilized 50 people (Army: 35, Militia: 15), 2 cars, coordinated with local forces to extinguish the fire at 7:00 PM on the same day.

At 8:45 am on July 6, at No. 135, Tran Phu Street, Ha Dong Ward, Hanoi City, a fire occurred at about 4000m2 on the 5th floor of Nguyen Kim electronics supermarket (old facility), the cause was welding for repair and removal. The locality mobilized 92 people, 12 fire trucks to coordinate with local forces to extinguish the fire at 9:30 am on the same day.
