Ha Tinh In Ha Tinh, it has been raining for the past 4 days, affecting the construction of the North-South expressway, causing great pressure when the main route must be completed and opened to traffic on April 30.

According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, on March 8, in Ha Tinh, it was still raining and cold. Therefore, the construction site of the North - South expressway, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang in this locality is quite deserted, many machines such as excavators and road rollers are lying still around the construction workshop without operation.

Mr. Dang Dinh Duyen - Construction Commander of Xuan Truong Construction Private Enterprise for the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section - shared that currently, package 11 under his command (22km long) has 50% of the C16 asphalt paving.

The main work at present is to continue paving asphalt. However, due to the rainy weather, they had to stop and could not be paved.

"If the rain cannot be done, the sun will rise and we will have to make up for the volume. It was sunny, so we had to work overtime, work in shifts, work through the day and work all night, said Mr. Duyen.

Mr. Tran Dinh Ngan - Construction Commander of Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense (the construction unit of nearly 13km of the North - South expressway, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section) - said that since the Lunar New Year, in Ha Tinh, the heavy rain has affected the construction of the unit, especially at the time when the current asphalt paving construction is being focused on.

Up to now, the construction volume of the package that Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense has implemented has reached 80% of the plan, of which the roadbed construction has reached 95%, the road foundation has reached 85%, and asphalt concrete pavement of all kinds has reached 50-60%.

Mr. Hoang Chien Thang - Executive Director of the Thang Long Project Management Board (investor of the North - South expressway project, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section) - said that due to the rainy weather, contractors could only construct the crushed stone aggregate but the asphalt concrete pavement could not be constructed.

"From now until April 30, there is not much time left. Therefore, if the rain continues, it will be very worrying. Hopefully the weather will improve so that contractors can focus on construction, work overtime, and increase teams to speed up the progress to complete the opening of the main route before April 30 as directed by the Government, Mr. Thang shared.
