According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:30 am on April 8, the Northwest region recorded that reservoirs on the Da River system continued to operate for power generation with significant discharge flow.
At Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, the reservoir water level is at an elevation of 115.32 m, nearly 1.7 m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 40 m3/s, while the total discharge through power generation reached 1,389 m3/s.
Similarly, Son La Hydropower is discharging 616 m3/s even though the water flow to the reservoir is only 89 m3/s.
At Lai Chau Hydropower Plant, water flowing to the reservoir reached 96 m3/s, the plant has not carried out discharge.
The two terraced lakes Huoi Quang and Ban Chat have low water flow (5–6 m3/s), the water level is close to the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Hydropower is discharging 121.06 m3/s while water inflow to the reservoir reaches 50 m3/s.
Thac Ba Hydropower maintains discharge of 70.07 m3/s, equivalent to the water flow to the reservoir.
The Central Highlands region continues to be a place with many strong discharge and power generation reservoirs. Notably, Ialy Hydropower discharges 275 m3/s; reservoirs on the Se San River system such as Se San 3, Se San 3A, Se San 4 maintain discharge from 150–394 m3/s.
Most reservoirs in the South Central region have low water inflow, many reservoirs have not been discharged. Some reservoirs operate electricity generation at a medium level such as Song Ba Ha, A Vuong, Song Hinh.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Hydropower has a water flow of 130 m3/s, currently discharging 112 m3/s to serve power generation.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for April 8th, provinces from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 37 - 39 degrees C, in some places above 40 degrees C.
The Northwest region has hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
The Southern Red River Delta, Central Highlands and Southern regions are hot with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, with some places above 36 degrees C.
