According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on February 9, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 113.65m, lower than the normal water level by 6.35m. The water flow to the lake reached 50 m3/s; total discharge flow 123.84 m3/s, all through the plant.
Thac Ba Lake maintains a water level of 54.93m, lower than the normal water level by more than 3m; total discharge volume reached 190.17 m3/s through the plant.
In the Northwest region, large reservoirs such as Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh operate close to the normal water level.
Son La Lake discharges 659 m3/s, Hoa Binh Lake discharges 500 m3/s, all through power plants, without overflowing. Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs continue to generate electricity with total discharge flows of 274 m3/s and 124 m3/s respectively.
In the North Central region, Trung Son and Ban Ve reservoirs maintain water levels lower than normal water levels by 0.5–3.5m.
Notably, Ban Ve Lake is discharging 319 m3/s through the plant. Khe Bo Lake has a large water inflow, reaching 346.3 m3/s, with a total discharge volume of 108.2 m3/s. Quang Tri Lake is currently not discharging.
The South Central Coast region recorded many reservoirs with low water inflows. A Vuong, Song Bung 4, Song Ba Ha, and Song Hinh reservoirs are maintaining power generation with discharge flows ranging from a few dozen to more than 100 m3/s.
Some reservoirs such as Song Bung 2, Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C, Song Tranh 2 currently do not discharge water.
In the Central Highlands region, the reservoirs on the Se San and Srepok river systems are basically operating stably. Se San 3 and Se San 3A reservoirs are discharging with large flows, respectively 258 m3/s and 228 m3/s.
An Khe and Buon Kuop reservoirs discharge through spillways with small flow and limited discharge gates.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir recorded an upstream water level of 61.76m, close to the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir reached 150 m3/s; total discharge volume 215 m3/s, all through the power plant.
