Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. has just reported on the drainage situation due to the impact of the rain at 1:00 p.m. on September 30.
Regarding the rainfall, due to the influence of the circulation of storm No. 10 Bualoi, the city will have moderate rain, heavy rain from 7am and very heavy rain concentrated with high intensity from 11am to 1pm (some areas will have over 150mm of rain for 120 minutes), then continue to have heavy rain for a long time.
The amount of rain measured from 7am to 4pm on September 30 in areas in the city is as follows:

The water level of inner-city rivers and lakes has risen to the highest level in many years: To Lich River (Hoang Quoc Viet) exceeded 6.10m; Tay Lake 6.10m; Hoan Kiem Lake 8.17m (exceeding the controlled water level by 7.70m); Dong Da Lake 5.70m (exceeding the controlled water level by 3.50m).

Regarding the flooding situation, due to the impact of heavy rain, 82 flooded areas appeared in the city.
By 4:00 p.m., some areas were no longer flooded and traffic was normal: Nguyen Truong To - Phan Huy Ich intersection, Tong Dan, Road 23B (section through Co Dien village - Hai Boi commune), Quang Trung (La Khe station, Nguyen Hue High School), TT17 - Phu La area, Residential Group No. 1+4 Yen Nghia. Currently, there are 75 locations that are still flooded.
Hanoi Drainage Company Limited said it has mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to be on duty at flooded areas and coordinated to support people and authorities to move through flooded areas.
Reasonable operation of the main pumping stations on the system: Yen So pumping station operates at 100% capacity (20/20 pumps) and 100% of the capacity of the pumping stations: Cau Buu, Dong Bong 1 and 2 pumping stations, Co Nhue pumping station, Da Sy pumping station... to quickly lower the water level on the system.
The blast gates operate according to the correct procedures, ensuring traffic safety in low-lying areas.
Regarding the work of ensuring the operation of the drainage system, as soon as it rained, the Company deployed on-duty work, resolved drainage, collected garbage at collection points throughout the management area, opened the floodgates of regulating lakes and properly operated the main pumping stations to lower the water level on the system in accordance with regulations.
As of 4:00 p.m. on September 30, the city still had heavy rain, the Company's forces and vehicles continued to be on duty, operating the main pumping stations according to the process to lower the water level of the system and clean the water to ensure the flow was clear.
According to the forecast of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station from the evening of September 30, Hanoi will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The company continues to closely monitor weather developments, prepare forces to closely monitor the scene, handle flooding and will update reports when there are new developments.
