On February 6, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it has a plan to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing by 2025.
One of the solutions proposed by localities is to disseminate and propagate the recommendations of the European Commission (EC) on combating IUU fishing, the 2017 Fisheries Law, directives, resolutions, and documents of the Government, ministries, branches, and localities on combating IUU fishing and sustainable development of the fisheries sector.

Strictly implement regulations on the work of confirming and certifying domestically exploited aquatic products; ensure that 100% of fishing vessels with a length of 15 meters or more loading and unloading exploited aquatic products at fishing ports must be monitored and traced; use a synchronous and unified electronic traceability system to monitor and control the transparency and legality of the work of confirming and certifying the origin of exploited aquatic products.

100% of fishing vessels are registered and data is updated.
In 2024, 100% of the province's fishing vessels were registered, marked in accordance with regulations and updated data on the National Fishing Vessel Data System; the whole province had 643/646 fishing vessels with a length of 15m or more operating in offshore areas that had installed fishing vessel monitoring equipment (reaching 99.87%), 634/646 vessels had been granted food safety certificates for fishing vessels (reaching 98.14%)... The work of controlling fishing vessels entering and leaving ports and confirming exploited seafood was also carried out strictly and transparently; violations in the field of fisheries exploitation were strictly handled.
