Thanh Hoa - A young man in Quang Chieu commune, suspected of being drunk, climbed onto the bridge railing and jumped into the rushing floodwaters, missing.

On August 26, the People's Committee of Quang Chieu commune, Thanh Hoa province confirmed the incident of a young man jumping into the flood at the Xim stream bridge, Bung village, Quang Chieu commune.

According to the representative of the People's Committee of Quang Chieu commune, at around 12:00 on the same day, Mr. Vi Van T. (born in 1993, residing in Bung village) was drunk and took off his shirt, climbed onto the bridge railing and suddenly jumped into the floodwaters. After that, the people reported it to the local authorities.

"After receiving the news, we, the police and the people, organized a search, but by 5:30 p.m. there was still no whereabouts of Mr. T." - said a representative of the People's Committee of Quang Chieu commune.

Previously, a clip was circulated on social media recording a young man stripped of his bare clothes, wearing shorts and thighs, wandering on the bridge, then suddenly plunging into the rushing floodwaters.

The local government said that Mr. T. was a citizen in the area, divorced, had a small child and frequently drank alcohol.
