On July 9, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that in the first 6 months of 2025, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee 389 have promptly implemented the directives of the Government and the National Steering Committee 389.
Many synchronous solutions have been applied to fight, prevent, and repel smuggling crimes, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement in the area.
From January 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, Nghe An authorities have inspected and administratively sanctioned 8,339 cases, prosecuted 1,378 cases with 1,857 subjects. The total amount of fines collected is nearly 394 billion VND, including: administrative fines of 127.816 billion VND, additional fines and tax collection of 247.852 billion VND, value of violating goods of 18.293 billion VND.
In the peak month from May 15 to June 14, 2025 alone, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 organized inspections and administrative sanctions for 345 cases; prosecuted 2 cases, involving 9 subjects violating drug regulations. The total value of the fines collected reached VND 6.228 billion.
To improve the effectiveness of the fight against counterfeit goods and trade fraud, in the coming time, the provincial authorities will continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the instructions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389.
In particular, focusing on implementing Directive No. 19/CT-UBND dated June 16, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on promoting the peak of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.
Strong measures will be implemented, strictly handled, no forbidden areas, no exceptions. The focus is to resolutely eliminate the situation of production, trading, and circulation of fake drugs and fake food in the area.
In addition, the province also promptly completed the Steering Committee 389 immediately after converting the 2-level local government model; directed the establishment of the Steering Committee 389 at the commune level, and issued the Regulations on coordination of activities.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee identified key and breakthrough points, especially in the fields of production and trading of medicine and food, while collecting information, grasping market developments, clarifying the operation tricks of violators to fight and destroy them.
