On June 4, the Market Management Department - Department of Industry and Trade of Dien Bien province said that during the peak period against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement, the authorities inspected 73 cases; arrested and handled 62 cases; and confiscated and destroyed many products of unknown origin.
In particular, from May 16 to June 3, the Steering Committee 389 of the province chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies and authorities to conduct inspections of 58 cases; arrest and handle 50 cases; and administratively sanction 27 subjects. The total amount of money collected into the state budget is over 700 million VND (the administrative penalty is nearly 220 million VND and the tax collection fee is 490 million VND).
In addition, 1,330 cosmetic products, 39 famous brand counterfeit garments and 2,010 packs of smuggled cigarettes were seized. Destroyed nearly 100 kg of frozen chicken, 727 units of expired food products, 117 expired cosmetic products, and 310 food products of unknown origin.
In addition, from May 21 to 4:00 p.m. on June 3, the interdisciplinary team inspected 15 cases; arrested, discovered and fined 12 cases/12 subjects for administrative violations, and collected 126 million VND to the state budget.
