To make way for the East-West Highway Project, hundreds of households in the mountainous areas of Nho Quan District, Ninh Binh Province had to move to new resettlement areas. These days before the Lunar New Year 2025, many families have moved to new, more spacious and modern houses in the new resettlement areas.
Having just moved into a new house in the resettlement area of Phu Long commune (Nho Quan district), Mr. Pham Van Cuong and his wife are busy cleaning the house to welcome Tet.
Mr. Cuong shared that when the government reclaimed the land to build the East-West route, his family received compensation and financial support and was given land in this new resettlement area, allowing him and his wife to build this new, spacious house.
"The old house my family built nearly 20 years ago has deteriorated. When we received compensation for resettlement, my wife and I invested more than 1 billion VND to build a new house. When we moved to the new resettlement area, my wife and I initially thought it would be difficult because the infrastructure system was not yet complete. However, just a short time later, the infrastructure, electricity and water were invested and are gradually being completed. I am very happy because the new place has spacious roads and modern infrastructure" - Mr. Cuong shared.
