Being close and understanding the life, customs, habits and circumstances of each family, reputable people regularly meet and encourage young people to take care of studying and working, stay away from social evils and violations of the law.
Their timely care and sharing has become a source of motivation, helping many young people gain more faith, will to study, practice and rise up in life.
Ha Manh Lam, 17 years old, residing in Dlie Ya commune, is currently studying at a school about 70km from home and often returns home on weekends. Lam's family has two siblings, the younger one is only 6 years old. Being away from his family early to study, Lam cannot avoid times of difficulty and pressure.
During his studies away from home, Lam regularly received encouragement from Mr. Ha Thanh Quyet, a reputable person in Doan Ket village. His advice and concern helped Lam have more motivation to study and train, stay away from social evils and negative influences.
Uncle Quyet often encourages me to try to study hard, live well, and not fall into social evils. Those words of encouragement help me have more motivation to continue trying," Lam shared.
Mr. Luong Van Tach, 70 years old, is one of the people who has been attached to the locality since the early days of the establishment of Dlie Ya commune.
As a veteran, he has nearly 20 years of working in villages and hamlets and is currently a reputable person in Ea Dinh village, where about 430 households live.
According to Mr. Tach, in previous years, when many households from other localities came to start a business, and their economic lives were still difficult, propaganda and mobilization of people were even more important.
Every time the locality implements new guidelines, policies or movements, he actively propagates and disseminates them so that people can grasp and implement them.
As a reputable person, I think I must be exemplary and regularly be close to the people. Whatever new policies, whatever content the locality implements, I try to disseminate them so that people understand and implement them together," Mr. Tach said.
Thanks to the coordination between local authorities, mass organizations and reputable people, the security and order situation in Ea Dinh village has been maintained.
According to Mr. Tach, for about 5 years, there have been almost no serious incidents related to social evils in the village.
Besides maintaining security and order, reputable people are also a spiritual support, encouraging many households to overcome difficulties and rise up to stabilize their lives.
For example, the family of Mr. Nong Van Cuong, residing in Ea Dinh village, used to be a poor household. The family has 3 people, about 3 sao of production land, life in the past was difficult, income was unstable.
Thanks to the efforts of his family, the support of local authorities and the constant encouragement of Mr. Luong Van Tach, Mr. Cuong gradually stabilized his life and escaped poverty about 2 years ago.
After the economy stabilized, his family built a new house about a year ago. For Mr. Cuong, the care and encouragement of reputable people in the community is a source of motivation to help his family gain more faith and overcome difficulties.
Building a team of reputable people trusted by the community
Chairman of Dliê Ya Commune People's Committee Mai Quoc Doanh said that the commune has a natural area of 178.07km2, a population of 46,569 people, and a density of 261.5 people/km2.
According to Mr. Doanh, in building a team of reputable people, the commune government pays special attention to selecting typical individuals with good moral qualities, a sense of responsibility and trusted by the community.
Reputation comes not only from age or position in the community, but more importantly from specific actions, exemplary behavior in life and the spirit of willingness to help people," Mr. Doanh assessed.
Reality shows that when people with prestige are dedicated and responsible, "saying and doing", propaganda and mobilization will be more effective. Thereby, contributing to the implementation of national target programs on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
In the coming time, the commune will continue to consolidate and promote the role of reputable people; regularly meet, listen to, provide information and create conditions for them to participate more deeply in grassroots activities.
From there, gradually build a team of reputable people to become core nuclei, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc, maintaining security and order and promoting local socio-economic development.
