On September 18, actual observations at Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant, in Village 2, Dai Lao Commune, Bao Loc City, Lam Dong, showed that this plant has no signs of burning or treating waste.
Previously, on September 11, this factory temporarily stopped waste burning and treatment activities.
As a result, up to now, all warehouses and collection points at the waste treatment plant have no more space. Garbage is continuously piled up, in some places the garbage is piled up more than 10 meters high, creating giant mountains of garbage.
Currently, the amount of untreated waste being stored has accumulated on the internal traffic roads and the factory's weighing station. The waste reception at Bao Loc Waste Plant is currently almost overloaded.
It is estimated that there are currently more than 25,000 tons of waste piled up like a mountain due to not being treated promptly. The mountain of garbage is stagnant, not covered, combined with the rainy weather, the wastewater from the garbage flows out into the environment. In the internal road area, the wastewater is black and gives off a strong stench. This wastewater flows directly into the environment, down to Dai Lao stream below.
Meanwhile, on the afternoon of September 13, at a working session with the People's Committee of Bao Loc city, Mr. Le Dinh Trong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company (the operator of Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant) - promised to resume operation of the plant no later than September 16.
However, through inspection by Bao Loc city authorities, as of September 18, the factory has not yet completely fixed the problems and has not yet processed the waste incineration...
A representative of Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company said that if the waste treatment plant does not resume operations from tomorrow (September 19), there will likely be no more space to collect waste in the city. This will cause more waste to accumulate, potentially causing environmental pollution and ruining the urban landscape.
