On February 12, the People's Committee of Cuor Dang commune (Dak Lak province) said that the commune police agency had identified the identity of the mother who abandoned the newborn baby in the coffee farm. The child's mother is a 17-year-old girl, residing in Cuor Dang commune.
According to research, the girl became pregnant unintentionally and throughout the pregnancy, the family was unaware. On February 11, when the family went to a party, the girl at home went into labor and gave birth on her own. After giving birth, due to extreme fear, this person carried the baby to a coffee farm and left it behind.
The baby, when abandoned, still had the umbilical cord intact, so it was covered with ants. At about 1 pm on February 11, a farmer discovered the incident and quickly took the baby to the health station for first aid. Thanks to being transferred to the medical center in time, the baby's health has stabilized, with no signs of fever.
When the Cuôr Đăng Commune Police intervened to investigate and determined that the girl was the child's mother, the family knew the cause of the incident. After that, the family contacted the local authorities to ask to take back the baby and signed a commitment to take care of him, not to let abandonment occur.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 1 pm on February 11, two people spraying medicine at a durian garden in Cuôr Đăng commune discovered a newborn baby girl abandoned. At the time of discovery, the baby weighed about 3.2kg, had her umbilical cord not cut. The baby was abandoned on the ground, without clothes, with ants covering her body.
Immediately after discovering it, people took the baby to a medical facility for treatment, and at the same time reported to functional agencies to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
After being cared for and treated at Cu M'Gar Medical Center, the baby's health has gradually stabilized.
