Creating sustainable livelihoods for people
Mr. Be Van Nup (51 years old), residing in Dak Sor commune, Krong No district, has a very difficult family economic situation. Mr. Nup's wife and children have left their hometown to work as laborers. He is alone at home, working hard and doing all kinds of jobs to make a living.
According to Mr. Nup, in the past, when he was still strong, he unfortunately tore the ligaments on both sides of his hip, paralyzing his entire body. His family's economy went downhill and he fell into near poverty.
Thanks to his own efforts, after 10 years, he gradually recovered and could walk normally but could not do heavy work.
"At the end of 2023, I was supported with breeding cows (under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction). The day I received the cows, I was very happy because from now on my family will have another livelihood to escape poverty" - Mr. Nup shared.
According to Mr. Nup, after 11 months of raising the cow, it is healthy, growing fast and has given birth to a small calf. "I will try to take care of it and take advantage of this opportunity to multiply the herd of calves, creating income for the family," Mr. Nup affirmed.
Dieu Ban’s family used to be one of the poor households in Tuy Duc district. His family had 2 hectares of land but did not know how to invest in business, so they only grew cassava and corn, which did not bring high economic efficiency.
Later, Mr. Dieu Ban was supported with coffee seedlings and was instructed in care techniques. Thanks to that, the family's coffee garden has grown well and now yields over 5 tons of coffee per year.
Thanks to a stable source of income, Mr. Dien Ban's family's life has changed in many positive directions. Not only does he have enough to eat, he also has capital to invest in other crops to increase his income.
Mr. Dieu Ban confided that his family is what it is today thanks to the Party, State and authorities at all levels' attention, support and creation of favorable conditions in all aspects.
Ms. Ho Oi’s family in Dak G’long district has also just received free training in silkworm farming. This is a completely new profession for Ms. Ho Oi. However, when she saw some villagers raising silkworms and the economic efficiency, Ms. Ho Oi was interested in learning.
Ms. H Oi shared: “Raising silkworms is easy, yields quick and regular harvests, and has few pests and diseases. After finishing the course, I went home and applied it. Each batch of 2 boxes of seeds, after deducting expenses, I earn 15 million VND per month. This is a huge amount of money for my family.”
