Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 542/QD-UBND announcing the current status of Phu Tho province's forests in 2025.
According to the Decision, the current status of Phu Tho province's forests as of December 31, 2025 is as follows:
The land area with forests is 405,394.17ha, including natural forests of 199,874.42ha and planted forests of 205,519.75ha.
The area of land with forest meeting the criteria for calculating the province's total forest cover rate is 405,394.17ha, with a forest cover rate of 43.37%.
Notably, summarizing the forest cover rate in 2025 of Phu Tho province, some communes have a forest cover rate of less than 1%.
Typical examples are Ban Nguyen, Phung Nguyen, Vinh Chau communes with a forest cover rate of 0%. According to the announcement, these are communes without forest area.
Some other communes have forest area but the forest cover rate is also very low. Typically, Lien Minh commune has a forest cover rate of 0.26%; Son Dong commune is 0.24%; Hoang An commune is 0.25%; Binh Nguyen commune is 0.54%.

According to the Decision, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Phu Tho Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize the management, exploitation, and use of the forest resource database throughout the province and each locality.
At the same time, directing the Forestry Sub-Department and Forest Protection Department to implement monitoring of forest resources and land planning in 2026 according to regulations.
Along with that, the Chairman of the People's Committee also assigned the People's Committees of communes and wards to perform state management responsibilities for forestry according to the provisions of Article 102 of the Forestry Law.
The province directs agencies, units, and forest owners to seriously implement the work of monitoring, updating, and reporting on forest developments annually according to regulations.
Use forest status data to implement forest protection and development tasks, and update forest developments in the following year.
