On the morning of November 18, the Blue Dream Melody cruise ship on the route from Beihai (China) to Ha Long (Vietnam) continued to return to Quang Ninh.
On this return, the ship brought about 400 Chinese tourists to Ha Long International Cruise Port. The ship anchored at the port until 6:00 p.m. the same day for tourists to visit Ha Long Bay, take a city tour to explore famous tourist destinations, experience culture, cuisine, and shopping in Ha Long.
It is expected that the Bac Hai - Ha Long cruise route will operate regularly from 2025.
Previously, on November 16, the Bac Hai - Ha Long sea tourism route was reopened after the connecting efforts of the two provinces of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) in concretizing tourism cooperation agreements.
From this sea tourism route, Quang Ninh province aims to develop new sea tourism routes from China to Quang Ninh.
The Bac Hai - Ha Long cruise route was active for 10 years, starting in 1998. However, it later stopped operating for many reasons.
Mr. Nguyen Lam Nguyen - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Tourism - said: "After the opening of this cruise route, departments, branches and sectors of Quang Ninh province and businesses will work with departments, branches and businesses on your side to further develop this cruise route for Vietnamese tourists to experience when visiting China to increase the number of visitors between the two sides".
Along with the sea route, on September 3, 2024, the fixed bus route between Nanning City (China) and Ha Long City (Vietnam) via Bac Luan II Bridge was officially approved.
Buses depart from Bai Chay Bus Station (Ha Long) and Phong Linh Station (Nanning), operating two ways six days a week.
Mr. Tran Duy Thang, Director of Viet Trung Global Friendship Group Joint Stock Company (the bus route operator) said: "Due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi, the bus route had to be suspended for more than 10 days. Up to now, the company has organized 20 trips. The unit is researching to put more limousines into operation to increase the choice for tourists."
Regarding air routes, Quang Ninh province is promoting the opening of flight routes from major Chinese airports such as Wuxi and Jiangsu to Van Don International Airport, expected to operate in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Close coordination between Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) with new transport routes not only promotes tourism but also opens up opportunities for economic and cultural growth between the two countries.
In 2024 alone, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 3.5 million international visitors, of which Chinese visitors are considered one of the key markets.
