On February 21, the Department of Construction of Quang Binh province said that according to the plan, on February 19, 2025, this unit will transfer the task of testing and issuing driving licenses to the Provincial Police. However, until February 21, because there was no final decision on the handover time, the driver's license renewal activities were still taken care of by the Department of Construction. The driver's license examination is still temporarily suspended to serve the transfer process.
Previously, the Department of Construction of Quang Binh province issued a document announcing the temporary suspension of testing and issuance of new driving licenses at training facilities in the area. At the same time, this unit also stopped receiving applications for issuing, exchanging and reissuing driving licenses at the Quang Binh Provincial Post Office, but continued to process applications at the Provincial Public Administration Service Center.
Mr. Dao Hoai Linh - Principal of the College of Industry and Agriculture of Quang Binh province, said that the school had arranged a test schedule for students on February 28, however, because the transfer was not completed, this plan was forced to stop. This affects hundreds of students waiting to get their degrees to participate in traffic or practice. There needs to be a clear roadmap to avoid interruptions.
To avoid affecting people, the Department of Construction of Quang Binh province has reviewed and forecasted the number of driver's license blanks that need to be used until the end of February 2025. This plan aims to ensure that the work of issuing and exchanging driving licenses takes place continuously, avoiding a shortage of blanks when the handover process takes place.
The Department of Construction of Quang Binh province added that the important thing is to ensure the rights of the people, not to let interruptions occur. Therefore, the unit continues to receive and process applications for issuing and renewing driving licenses as usual.
The Department of Construction of Quang Binh province also requested the Vietnam Road Administration and relevant agencies to have specific instructions on the time to stop taking the test, the time to reorganize the tests as well as the host unit so that people and training facilities have a clear understanding of information.
