On September 23, 2024, the People's Council of Quang Ninh province issued Resolution 42/NQ-HDND on a number of measures to support overcoming the consequences of storm Yagi (storm No. 3) in the province, in which poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households whose houses collapsed or were damaged by the storm will be supported to rebuild and repair.
According to the approved list of the Department of Construction of Quang Ninh province, the whole province has 410 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in 11 localities in the province (except Mong Cai and Hai Ha, which have no affected households) receiving support under Resolution 42/NQ-HDND to build new houses and repair houses severely affected by storm No. 3 in 2024.
Of these, 74 households are building new houses and 336 households are repairing houses with a total support cost of over 24 billion VND. Also according to Resolution 42/NQ-HDND, the support level for families with severe damage to their houses is 100 million VND/household for building new houses and 50 million VND/household for repairing houses.
With the attention of Quang Ninh province and the active participation of local authorities, by December 16, 2024, 100% of localities with households whose houses were affected by storm No. 3 had completed the work of supporting the construction and repair of houses for 410 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the province due to storm No. 3 with a total cost of over 24 billion VND.
Quang Ninh was the locality that suffered the most property damage caused by Typhoon Yagi, with total damage reaching about 1 billion USD. Of which, the whole province had more than 102,000 houses with unroofed roofs, 251 houses collapsed, 4,942 houses flooded and landslides.
