Quang Tri is one of the localities with a large number of people with meritorious services to the revolution, with more than 2,800 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, more than 19,000 martyrs, more than 12,000 war invalids and tens of thousands of other policy beneficiaries. Those figures are not only a testament to the great sacrifice but also a reminder of the responsibility and affection of the whole society in gratitude.
In 2024, the province will pay about 50 billion VND in preferential allowances to people with meritorious services every month. In addition to periodic allowances, Quang Tri also issued more than 22,000 health insurance cards, organized health rehabilitation nursing for more than 6,100 subjects/year, with a budget of about 10.2 billion VND; fully implemented preferential policies in education - training for children of meritorious people.

Not only stopping at the State's policies, the province also pays special attention to socialization. From 2007 to present, the "Thanh An Duong" Fund has mobilized nearly 140.4 billion VND, supported the construction of 2,634 new houses, repaired 1,412 houses of gratitude with a total cost of more than 119 billion VND. 21 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who are still alive are supported by units and organizations, helping them stabilize their material and spiritual lives.
In the process of socio-economic development, meritorious people and their relatives are always given priority. The province has proactively integrated preferential policies into vocational training programs, poverty reduction, job support, and improvement of living conditions for policy families.
In 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will continue to be a unit to advise on the effective implementation of preferential policies for meritorious people, while promoting the mobilization of resources from society, from organizations and individuals to expand support to the poor, the disadvantaged, and people in remote areas. At the same time, it is the task of strengthening inspection, examination, and reform of administrative procedures to ensure policies reach the right people, at the right time, and in accordance with regulations.

Mr. Ngo Quang Chien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province said that the locality sets a target that by 2030, 100% of people with meritorious services and families with meritorious services to the revolution in the area will have a standard of living of the average or better. To realize this, the Party Committee, government and people of the whole province continue to promote the tradition of "Remembering the source of drinking water", actively participating in the " use of gratitude" movement, accompanying those who have contributed to the revolutionary cause.
Caring for meritorious people is not only a political task but also the deepest manifestation of gratitude, of national morality - something that Quang Tri province is doing well with all its responsibility and affection.
