According to records, along the Da River in Tu Vu Commune, large plots of land continue to fall into the culverts. The landslides form steep cliffs up to 8 - 9m high, causing the crop and farming land of people in areas 2, 6, and 7 to be washed away every day.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (Head of Zone 2, Tu Vu Commune - where landslides occurred strongly and continuously), landslides started in 2019 and are becoming increasingly complicated. In Zone 2 alone, up to now, hundreds of households are affected such as losing their cultivated land, losing their Mau flowers...
"Previously, the locality had put up many warning signs for people to pay attention when grazing cattle and cows, farming... but due to strong landslides, the warning signs have drifted into the river," Ms. Thao shared.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc - Chairman of Tu Vu Commune People's Committee, confirmed that landslides along areas 2, 6, and 7 along the Da River have occurred continuously for many years, and were expanded more than a month ago.
"The locality has repeatedly reported to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Tho; only 4-5 days ago, it continued to send reports and immediately after that, the Department's working group came to survey and specifically evaluate. On the afternoon of August 25, the commune went directly to the scene, stretched ropes, put up warning signs, and propagated to prevent people from entering the dangerous area," Mr. Duc informed.

According to Mr. Duc, while the Ba Vi (Hanoi) bank has been reinforced, the land on the Tu Vu commune side is mainly mixed sand, and is affected by exploitation and changes in flow, so the risk of landslides is increasing.
Local authorities will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to find comprehensive solutions to ensure the safety of people along the river.
