CV1 park and lake (Cau Giay ward) has a total area of nearly 27.7 hectares, of which the water surface of the lake is at least 19 hectares and the green area is about 8.7 hectares. This is a favorite destination for the people of the capital, attracting many people to come to every day.

However, for a long time, this park has been in a state of serious pollution when there are fish waiting to die in the belly, giving off a foul smell; garbage is not collected; overgrown with grass covering the path, creating conditions for insects to appear.
The shabby landscape makes many people upset because it directly affects their daily lives and the environment.
Faced with this situation, recently, the People's Committee of Cau Giay Ward has chaired a large-scale general cleaning campaign with the participation of many forces, including functional units, mass organizations and a large number of local people.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung, Director of the Urban Infrastructure Project Management Board of Cau Giay Ward, said that the park's maintenance has been interrupted due to changes in administrative boundaries. According to the handover minutes dated March 29, 2025, the old Nam Tu Liem District manages all items of CV1 Park. However, after applying the two-level urban government model, CV1 was transferred to Cau Giay ward for management from July 1, 2025.
Hanoi City has issued Decision 61/2025/QD-UBND on decentralizing park management to wards and communes. The People's Committee of Cau Giay Ward has reported to the City, the Department of Finance and the Department of Construction to propose capital allocation and select contractors to maintain the park from the beginning of 2026.
While waiting for funding and units to maintain officially, the ward has proactively mobilized local forces including cadres, local unions, residential groups and people to participate in cleaning and pruning trees, ensuring a safe and clean landscape for the community.
According to Lao Dong's records on November 17, the appearance of CV1 Park has changed significantly after the large-scale general cleaning of Cau Giay Ward. Walkways and exercise areas become clean and airy. The grass is cut down, the areas previously covered by weeds have now been cleared.
Garbage is thoroughly collected, the road surface is dry, and there is no longer the same mess as before. The lake is also treated and cleaned, helping to significantly improve environmental quality.
