According to a quick report, from the afternoon of July 21 to the morning of July 22, the whole province had moderate rain, some places had heavy rain, many inter-commune roads had minor landslides, causing local congestion.
It is forecasted that from July 22 to the end of July 23, Son La will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, many places may be over 300mm, concentrated in Moc Chau, Van Ho, Phu Yen, Yen Chau areas.
The meteorological industry warns of a very high risk of flash floods, landslides, tornadoes, lightning and localized flooding, especially in steep slopes, along streams, low-lying areas and construction works under construction.
The leaders of Son La province requested localities to immediately establish a commune-level Civil Defense Command, activate the 24/7 command and operation system, and establish a smooth hotline to promptly handle all situations.
Son La Hydrometeorological Station and press agencies need to continuously update weather developments, increase warnings so that people can proactively avoid them.
