In the first 6 months of 2025, in the context of many difficulties from the world and regional economic situation, increased input prices, and export markets facing difficulties, Yen Khanh district (Ninh Binh province) still achieved many outstanding results in economic development. Thanks to the strong direction of Party committees, authorities and the consensus of all levels, sectors, businesses and people, the local economic picture continues to flourish, many targets are achieved and ahead of schedule, creating a solid foundation for growth throughout the year.
The agricultural sector has recorded comprehensive and solid results. The total sown area in the first 6 months of the year reached over 10,079 hectares, of which the 2024-2025 winter crop was organized to produce in the direction of concentrated goods, increasing the conversion of high-value crops, contributing to raising the production value to an average of 124.2 million VND/ha. The 2025 spring crop will cover an area of 8,186 hectares, with an estimated rice yield of 68.15 quintals/ha and an output of over 49,300 tons. The district continues to promote the application of Mechanical engineering and science and technology in production, effectively implementing the linkage model between cooperatives and enterprises, with a linkage area of over 70 hectares.
Livestock continues to develop stably with a total of 36,653 pigs, an increase of 3.1%; buffalo and cow herds nearly 4,800, an increase of 2.4%; poultry herds reach more than 1.3 million, an increase of 9.1% over the same period. The output of bacon exported to the cage is estimated at 6,565 tons, up 5.2%. Seafood maintained growth momentum, output reached 2,173 tons, up 4.7%. Irrigation and natural disaster prevention work has been proactively implemented, many dykes and embankments have been repaired, ensuring safety during the rainy and stormy season.
Industry and handicrafts continue to be a bright spot in the local economy. Total revenue from the industrial and handicraft sectors is estimated at VND 15,131 billion, up 16.5% over the same period in 2024. Industrial clusters are strictly managed, the production environment is significantly improved. Public investment work has been implemented synchronously and seriously, the district has carried out investment procedures for 34 projects, including transitional works, new starts, refunds and land auction projects. In particular, basic construction debts at the district level have been completely handled.
The trade - service sector continues to develop dynamically. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND 8,328 billion, up 18.3% over the same period. Price stabilization, market inspection, anti-smuggling and counterfeit goods are regularly implemented, contributing to stabilizing the supply and demand of essential goods. Transport revenue reached more than VND 2,043 billion, an increase of 13.6%, thanks to regular maintenance of transport infrastructure and tightening management of wharves and traffic safety corridors.
The budget revenue and expenditure situation is a highlight in the first 6 months of the year. Total budget revenue in the area reached 533.4 billion VND, equal to 74.6% of the plan assigned by the province and far exceeding the same period last year (reaching 260%). Of which, land use fee collection reached 449.3 billion VND, accounting for the majority of revenue and is an important basis for reinvesting in technical infrastructure. Budget expenditure must ensure the right purpose, publicity, transparency, and timely meeting the tasks of socio-economic development.
Total social investment capital in the district is estimated at VND 2,132.7 billion, up 15.6% over the same period. Of which, non-state capital accounts for a large proportion (VND 1,901.5 billion), showing that the private economic sector is increasingly playing a key role. Foreign direct investment (FDI) reached VND86 billion, up 13.3%, showing that the local investment environment is improving, creating attraction for domestic and foreign investors.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Yen Khanh district has demonstrated its flexible, creative management capacity and courage in the face of economic fluctuations. The achieved results not only affirm the correct direction in development direction but also create favorable momentum for the district to continue to make a breakthrough in the last 6 months of the year, striving to complete and exceed the socio-economic goals in 2025.
