Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street and Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Phan Thiet City are routes with many resorts and hotels on both sides leading to Mui Ne. In recent years, the road has seriously degraded, so the project to repair and upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street and Huynh Thuc Khang Street, from Hoang Ngoc Tourist Area to Lang Chai intersection, is under construction with a total investment of more than 309 billion VND.

According to the Phan Thiet City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the route is 4.8 km long, with a roadway width of 9 m, of which the roadway on each side is expanded by an average of 1.5 m. Compensation and site clearance work has been completed for 161/383 households. The project is invested in a paved Terrazzo sidewalk, a package of granite and trees. Rainwater drainage system, domestic wastewater drainage system and rebuilding 41 fire hydrants.

According to records, many locations are being constructed by contractors to widen the roadway and install sewers. These locations are fenced off and have signs for the project.

The leaders of Phan Thiet City People's Committee and departments are urging units to speed up site clearance and requesting construction units to open more construction teams to speed up the project's progress.

Previously, the project to expand Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street from Ong Dia rock beach to Hoang Ngoc Tourist Area was completed, expanded and put into operation from 2021. Therefore, when the project to repair and upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street and Huynh Thuc Khang Street, the section from Hoang Ngoc Tourist Area to Lang Chai intersection, is completed and put into use, it will create an urban embellishment for Mui Ne tourist area, with open sidewalks serving people and tourists. In particular, there is a drainage system to solve flooding problems during the rainy season; wastewater is brought to treatment plants, limiting pollution of the marine environment.

In addition, according to current records, when it rains heavily, red sand from above follows rainwater and flows onto Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street from Alley No. 177, sand flows into the seafood restaurant of the people as on May 21.

The reason was determined by the inspection team of Phan Thiet City People's Committee due to heavy rain combined with the construction of the connecting road to Phan Thiet airport area without completing the drainage system, while the drainage downstream in culvert No. 4 was not dredged regularly, so when it rained heavily, sand and rainwater overflowed, causing congestion and overflowing to surrounding areas, affecting traffic safety and daily life of people in the area.

The Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee has directed the locality to quickly overcome the incident of sand overflow; At the same time, discuss the solution to connect the drainage system of the roads in the area, overcome in the long term to ensure water drainage, avoid the situation of sand overflowing into the area below.
