On January 9, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that Nguyen Hoanh Tu street (in Ha Huy Tap ward) with a length of about 30 m, the section from Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company to Ha Tinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company has been asphalted.
The new road surface is paved flat, people can travel conveniently and safely. However, the sidewalk is still unable to be constructed due to site clearance issues.
An official of the Ha Tinh Provincial Traffic and Urban Development Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Board is the unit that has directed the implementation of asphalting the Nguyen Hoanh Tu road section in recent days.
This official also said that it is expected that the site clearance problems with some remaining households will be resolved in March 2026. At that time, the unit will continue to complete the construction of the drainage ditch and pave the remaining sidewalk.
Ms. Ho Thi Van (56 years old) next to the road section that has just been asphalted shared: "I am very happy that this road section has just been beautifully asphalted, people can travel safely. This section previously had damaged roads, many potholes, so continuous accidents caused us to be startled many times because people fell off their motorbikes on the road.
According to Ms. Van, Nguyen Hoanh Tu street had previously implemented an upgrade and expansion project. However, due to site clearance problems with some households, a short section has not been constructed.
Therefore, many accidents have occurred in the unconstructed and repaired road section in the past.
Previously, on January 4th, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article "Continuous accidents occur at one location due to road surface protrusion" reflecting that from January 1st to 3rd, there were 3 accidents on Nguyen Hoanh Tu street section.
The reason is that the road has many potholes, the road surface is protruding and watery, in which one lane is heavily damaged.
According to a resident's house camera on the side of the road, at 11:19 pm on January 1, a young man driving a motorbike on Nguyen Hoanh Tu street in the direction from Ha Huy Tap street to Cau Nui, when he reached this pothole road section (in front of the Power Transmission Company gate) he suddenly collapsed into a pothole, causing the driver to fall to the road and faint.
After the accident, passersby stopped and called an ambulance to take this young man to the emergency room.
At 4:32 PM on January 2nd, a young man riding an electric motorbike in the direction of Ha Huy Tap street to Cau Nui was driving at a fairly fast speed, when he discovered a pothole on the road, he braked suddenly and fell.
At 8:38 am on January 3rd, a woman driving a motorbike from Cau Nui to Ha Huy Tap street, due to going into the left lane to avoid potholes, encountered a car going in the opposite direction rushing towards her, so she was scared and swerved to the right to avoid falling onto the road.
Fortunately, this woman fell to the right, if she had fallen to the left, she would have been crushed by the car.
