According to the reporter's investigation, the awarding ceremony of the Third Class Labor Medal to Mr. Choi Joo Ho, former General Director of Samsung Vietnam (2018-2025 period) is scheduled to take place tomorrow (July 23).
Regarding the awarding ceremony of the Third Class Labor Medal to Mr. Choi Joo Ho, Mr. Na Ki Hong - current General Director of Samsung Vietnam respectfully invited Mr. Nguyen Van Gau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee to attend and visit the Samsung Electronics Vietnam Factory in Yen Phong Industrial Park (Bac Ninh province).
By the end of 2024, Samsung's total realized investment capital had reached about 23.2 billion USD, becoming the largest FDI enterprise in Vietnam.
Currently, Samsung's total employees are about 87,000 people, of which more than 45,000 employees work in Bac Ninh province.
In 2024, 6 manufacturing plants of Samsung Vietnam achieved revenue of 62.5 billion USD, export turnover of 54.4 billion USD. Enterprises in Bac Ninh alone achieved revenue of 31.4 billion USD and export turnover of 25 billion USD.
In Bac Ninh, there are more than 70 Samsung's first-level suppliers with a total workforce of about 80,000 people (transaction scale of about 3.3 billion USD).
Mr. Choi Joo Ho started working in Vietnam in December 2018 as General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex, responsible for overall management of the operations of six factories, a research and development center and a sales branch of Samsung in Vietnam.
He is also a representative of Samsung in Vietnam in cooperative relations with the Government and localities.
Mr. Choi Joo Ho is considered to have made great contributions to the successful promotion of Samsung's Southeast Asia Research and Development Center in Vietnam, creating a solid foundation to elevate Vietnam's position beyond its role as a global manufacturing base to become a strategic research and development base of Samsung globally.
