On the morning of April 29, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that the traffic flow was quite busy when traveling on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressways. In addition to cars, many passenger cars, trucks, and container trucks have continuously passed through and out.
At the intersection of the expressway with Provincial Road 550 in Luu Vinh Son commune (Thach Ha district), the management unit arranged 2 guards to guide vehicles to the expressway, while preventing vehicles prohibited from entering the expressway.
"In the morning, many people were planning to go on motorbikes on the highway, but we stopped them in time and explained to them that motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians were not allowed to go on the highway" - a staff member on duty here shared.
Mr. Tran Dinh Ngan - Construction Commander of Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense, the construction unit of 12km of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway section - said that the unit is currently continuing to carry out the remaining work such as completing the service road, parallel roads, checking additional planting locations for unsecured grass, general hygiene, and ensuring drainage systems.
According to Mr. Ngan, those tasks will be completed by June 30. However, the unit will speed up to complete it earlier.
Mr. Hoang Chien Thang - Director of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway Project Management Board (Thang Long Project Management Board) - shared that from the opening of the main route at 6:00 p.m. on April 28 to this morning (April 29), vehicles traveling on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway section were still safe.
According to Mr. Thang, the remaining tasks including completing the service road, cleaning the canals and ditches, completing the planting of grass, and planting a lot of unsecured areas will continue until April 30.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Executive Director of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway project (Thang Long Project Management Board) also shared that after the main expressway of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang sections was opened from 6:00 p.m. on April 28, vehicles are safe to travel.

According to Mr. Trung, in the early days of the opening of the main route, the unit is arranging people to be on duty to guide vehicles up and down the highway and especially prevent vehicles banned from entering the highway.
"The general hygiene supplement work on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section is basically finished. We have directed contractors to focus on work in about ten days to complete and complete all work outside the construction site" - Mr. Trung shared.
As Lao Dong reported, the North-South Expressway Component Project for the period 2021 - 2025 through Ha Tinh, including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi (35.28km long) and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang (54.2km long), held a ceremony to open the main route from 6:00 p.m. on April 28.
The North - South Expressway component project, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section, has 3 intersections, including: Intersection in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district.
The intersection in Trung Loc commune (now Dong Loc town, Can Loc district) intersects with Provincial Road 548.
The intersection with Provincial Road 550 in Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district.

The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway component project also has 3 intersections. The first intersection is in Cam Quan commune (Cam Xuyen district). The second intersection in Ky Trung commune (Ky Anh district) intersects with district road 91.
The third intersection is the intersection with National Highway 12C in Ky Tan Commune, Ky Anh District. This intersection is the connection point of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway with Vung Ang - Bung Expressway.
Because the Vung Ang (Ha Tinh) - Bung (Quang Binh) expressway component project has not yet opened the route, at this time, people who want to move to Quang Binh and the southern provinces need to go to the intersection, move along National Highway 1.
In the phased phase, the two sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway meet the standards of a level 120 expressway, with a scale of 4 lanes. The completed phase is a level 120 expressway, designed speed of 120 km/h, with a scale of 6 lanes.
The North-South expressway component projects, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang sections, both invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board, were started in January 2023.
