At the Conference, the report of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Yen Bai province showed that in recent years, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses has always been given special attention and direction by Party committees and authorities at all levels, considering this an important political task, associated with the goal of socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.
In the 2016-2020 period, Yen Bai supported the construction of over 9,000 houses; in the 2021-2024 period, the whole province supported the construction of over 7,000 houses for people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households, households affected by natural disasters and floods.

In 2025, in response to the Emulation Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide launched by the Prime Minister, Yen Bai province launched a movement and issued a Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the goal of eliminating 2,208 temporary and dilapidated houses.
Of which, 1,815 new units will be built, 393 units will be repaired, striving to complete before August 30, 2025. The implementation cost is more than 120 billion VND. However, during the implementation process, the province has mobilized an additional VND242 billion from socialized resources outside the budget.
After more than 5 months of implementing the Project, Yen Bai province has completed the Project's target, reaching the finish line nearly 80 days ahead of the set target.


Speaking at the conference, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Tran Huy Tuan emphasized: Yen Bai and the upcoming Lao Cai province are still a mountainous province with many difficulties and the area is often affected by natural disasters, floods, so the number of temporary and dilapidated houses is constantly arising.
The Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee requested agencies, units, organizations, enterprises and the whole society to continue promoting the responsibility and traditional morality of " use gratitude in response to merits" and gratitude to people with revolutionary contributions, the spirit of solidarity, sharing, mutual love and support "Love others as you love yourself", "Leave no one behind" to continue to join hands, join hands, and wholeheartedly support the poor and disadvantaged in the province.
All levels, sectors and localities continue to pay attention and proactively review housing needs regularly to promptly support newly arising households, contributing to improving housing quality, stabilizing people's lives and effectively implementing social security goals.
