NGUYỄN TRƯỜNG |

Son La - Son La province is focusing on accelerating the progress of the GPMB Project (DA) to invest in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the section passing through Son La province.

DA invests in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the section passing through Son La province is 32.3km long, starting at Km53 (Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho district) and ending at Km85+300 (Phieng Luong commune, Moc Chau district), intersecting with National Highway 43.

The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway is a very important traffic project, breaking the monopoly of National Highway 6 connecting Hanoi Capital to Son La Province, opening up many opportunities for socio-economic development for the provinces in the Northwest region.

This is a strategic route connecting the Northwest region with the Northern Delta and the capital Hanoi. DA is an important driving force to attract investment, develop high-tech agriculture, green tourism, contribute to hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and improve the quality of life of people.

Currently, Son La province is focusing on directing the implementation of site clearance work, supporting compensation and resettlement according to regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet - Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee said that DA will invest in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the section of the route in Son La province, and will be built in 3 years (from 2025 - 2028) with a total investment of VND4,445 billion from the central budget and Son La provincial budget.

DA passes through Van Ho district and Moc Chau town. Up to now, the GPMB work is being focused on by Son La province, speeding up the progress to hand over the clean site to the construction unit.

Currently, the local authorities of Van Ho district and Moc Chau town have started construction of 4 resettlement areas for 100 households whose residential land has been recovered and had to be relocated. At the same time, Son La province has also planned common construction material mines and dumping sites for DA implementation...

In Moc Chau town, on June 2, the Moc Chau Town Land Fund Development Center paid 3 installments of compensation and site clearance support to 26 households and individuals subject to land acquisition to serve the project.

The total amount of payments approved for this period is over 22.5 billion VND, including compensation for land, crops, assets, vocational training support, and job search. To date, Moc Chau town has completed compensation and support for 56/56 households with a total payment of nearly 53 billion VND.

The implementation of compensation and support payments in accordance with regulations has contributed significantly to speeding up the progress of implementing DA to invest in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section through Son La province.

"The investmentDA to build the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the section passing through Son La province, officially started construction on May 18. Currently, Son La province is focusing on directing the acceleration of site clearance work, contributing to speeding up the progress for DA to complete and put into operation according to the set plan" - Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet said.
