In early September, Mr. Ban Van Giap, Lam Binh commune (Tuyen Quang) will officially leave for work in Japan. In this poor commune, many households have escaped poverty and have a prosperous life thanks to labor export.
During a job fair held in the commune in early 2025, Mr. Giap was introduced and consulted to work in the agricultural sector in Japan for 3 years and may continue to be extended.
Mr. Giap shared: "My family has been a poor household for many years, I did not dare to think that one day I would work abroad, but the state supported me with capital and procedures, so I decided to go. With a committed income of about 40 to 50 million/month, it is not easy to escape poverty and then save to repair houses and have capital to do business".
As for Mr. Pham Van Bang in Binh Ca commune, the newly built house worth nearly 2 billion VND is the result of 10 years of working in Taiwan. Not only has Mr. Bang built a house, he also has capital to accumulate to open a wood chip factory, creating a stable income.
"Previously, my job was unstable and my income was unstable, so my life was difficult. Thanks to working abroad, I have accumulated capital and experience, and have a good working style, so when I return home, I am confident in creating a business, developing the economy, and escaping poverty," said Mr. Bang.

The rate of poor households in Tuyen Quang province has decreased rapidly and sustainably in recent times, including a significant contribution from labor export activities. According to data from the Department of Home Affairs, from the beginning of 2025 to now, more than 800 workers in the province have gone to work abroad under contracts.
The goal in 2025 is that the whole province of Tuyen Quang will send 1,500 people to work abroad, in which, targeting poor workers to increase income, creating a sustainable poverty escape direction.
Currently, Tuyen Quang province is making efforts to diversify the market, improve labor quality and strengthen cooperation with reputable partners to ensure the best benefits for employees, expand the labor market to developed countries such as Japan, Korea and European countries.
Mr. To Hoang Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Tuyen Quang province said that in the coming time, the Home Affairs sector will strengthen coordination with functional sectors and localities to effectively implement the work of sending workers in the province to work abroad.
" Strengthen propaganda work on programs, labor markets and the effectiveness of labor export, effectively implement support policies on vocational training, preferential loans for especially poor households and newly escaped poverty households who need to go to work abroad. Thereby increasing people's income and sustainably reducing poverty," Mr. Linh informed.
Implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, Tuyen Quang province has effectively implemented the work of supporting workers to work abroad under contracts in poor communes.
The goal is to promote the activity of sending workers in poor communes to work abroad under contracts, support training activities to improve foreign language proficiency and vocational skills for workers before going to work abroad under contracts, contributing to creating jobs, improving income and sustainable poverty reduction.
In 2025, Tuyen Quang province plans to support 100% of workers from poor households, poor households, and newly escaped poverty who want to work abroad under contracts to receive consultation, career guidance, and provide labor market information.
Accordingly, workers in poor communes who work abroad under contracts will be supported with training costs, vocational skills training, foreign languages, food allowances, living expenses, and accommodation during the training period. In addition, employees are also supported with health check-up fees, family allowances, visas and criminal records, health insurance, and consultation for employees and employees' relatives.
