On the morning of October 25, speaking with Lao Dong, a leader of the People's Committee of Long Xuyen Ward (An Giang) said that when information spread on social networks about the above incident, the ward immediately inspected it.
"After verifying at 29 secondary and high schools in the area, no teacher like the youth in the incident was accused of taking grade 9 students to a motel as posted on social networks," the leader shared.
The leader also added that if there is new information related to the incident or any announcement, it will be provided later.
A representative of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province also said that they have received information about the incident, but so far, no school has officially reported to the department.
Previously, social networks spread a short clip recording a young man wearing a white shirt being taken away by the local security force. In the clip, many people, believed to be the female student's family, shouted that the young man (believed to be a teacher) had taken his cousin to the motel.
The incident attracted many people to watch and leave comments expressing their frustration, many social networking sites also took to post to share.
