On the morning of May 4, Nha Trang City Party Secretary Tran Manh Dung responded to Lao Dong about the implementation of the policy of fighting waste and streamlining the administrative apparatus. Notably, the Nha Trang City Administrative Center construction project has been suspended.
According to Mr. Dung, Nha Trang City Party Committee has directed the City People's Committee to temporarily suspend procedures related to the Administrative Center project (at 114 Hoang Hoa Tham) and report to the provincial leaders to stop implementation.
This decision aims to ensure effective use of the budget, limit waste and comply with the Central's policies and guidelines.
At the end of December 2022, the Nha Trang City People's Council issued a resolution on the investment policy for the Administrative Center project with a total initial investment of 304 billion VND, expected to be implemented from 2022 to 2027.
However, the locality later proposed and the City People's Council approved an adjustment to increase the investment level to 438 billion VND, an increase of 134 billion VND compared to the original plan.
Up to now, the land planned to build Nha Trang City Administrative Center (greater than 3,901m2) has not been implemented because the zoning plan of the ward has not been approved.
Currently, this land has been cleared and fenced off with corrugated iron.
The project suspension is to ensure increased budget efficiency and limit waste in public investment. This decision also reflects the policy of streamlining the apparatus, increasing flexibility and efficiency in local administrative activities.
