The 2025 summer transfer window is gradually entering its final month, and Manchester United still have a lot of work to do.
The Red Devils have made a quick start by completing the Matheus Cunha deal on the first day of the transfer window. They have activated a £62.5m release clause to bring the Brazilian striker back from Wolves.
However, the recruitment deal with Bryan Mbeumo is much more complicated, forcing coach Ruben Amorim to show patience. After weeks of intense negotiations with Brentford, Man United finally reached a deal last week, agreeing to spend up to £71 million to own the striker.
As of now, the "Red Devils" have spent a total of 133.5 million pounds. This is a significant figure if considered individually, but is still far behind the investment level of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

However, Man United is not a team with an unlimited budget. Their spending is still tied by financial constraints both from the Financial Fairness Act (FFP) and restructuring plans under the new board.
Man United are currently heavily dependent on player sales, with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia still out of the club.
However, that did not stop M.U from continuing to pursue new transfer goals. Talks are still ongoing, despite growing financial pressure and delays in the squad liquidation process.
According to British media, in the process of finding a new striker, Man United has identified Ollie Watkins as the number 1 target. Although Aston Villa have decided not to sell the 29-year-old at any price, the Old Trafford team still hopes to reach a deal of around £40 to £45 million.

They are not only focused on the attack, because behind, Amorim also wants to create competition for the position of goalkeeper Andre Onana. Initially, Senne Lammens, a young talent on the Royal Antwerp payroll, was contacted. However, Man United now have the opportunity to recruit one of the world's best goalkeepers - a big step forward in the process of upgrading the depth of the squad.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is being launched by Paris St-Germain, in the context that the French capital team has reached a deal worth 34 million pounds to recruit Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
With Donnarumma's contract due to expire next summer, if Man United can manage financially, they can completely send a proposal to recruit the Italian goalkeeper.
Donnarumma will play behind the three-man defense - a system he is very familiar with at the national team level.
Amorim's top three centre-backs will likely include Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez, despite De Ligt currently injured. This is considered the Portuguese strategist's favorite defense.
The full-back position is Amorim's top concern, as the competition on both sides is taking place fiercely. On the right wing, three names Amad Diallo, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are competing for a position in the main squad.
Meanwhile, on the left wing, Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw and young talent Diego Leon are also trying to show themselves to win a starting position.

Bruno Fernandes, who rejected an attractive offer from Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, could take on a deeper role in the Man United squad thanks to the arrival of many new strikers.
Casemiro will be a solid support in important matches, while both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo possess their own unique qualities, bringing diversity to the midfield.
Up front, Bruno Fernandes will not have to face the same pressure as last season. If the "Red Devils" successfully recruit Watkins, this striker will reunite with his former Brentford teammate Mbeumo. Both of these names, along with Cunha, will form an attacking trio that has proven its quality in the Premier League.
Expected Man United lineup for the 2025-2026 season: Donnarumma, Yoro, De Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Dorgu, Casemiro, Fernandes, Watkins, Mebumo, Cunha.
