In the nomination category of the 2024 Vietnam Futsal Golden Ball, there were initially only 10 names. After the Vietnam futsal team won the runner-up position in the 2024 Southeast Asian futsal tournament, player Tran Thai Huy made his mark and was included in the nomination list.
According to the representative of the organizing committee of the Vietnam Golden Ball Award 2024, the initial list of nominations is open, and can receive additional nominations from experts, reporters, sports journalists, etc. This is to select the most deserving individuals to compete for the title.
Tran Thai Huy is a player of Thai Son Nam club. Although he has just returned from injury, he is an important factor in the national futsal championship of this team.
At the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship, Thai Huy and his teammates reached the quarter-finals. At the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, this left-back Ala contributed 3 goals in the journey to the runner-up position of the Vietnamese futsal team.
“Being nominated for the Vietnam Futsal Golden Ball award helps me to try harder. This is an honor and also a responsibility for me to always maintain good form every time I play at the club level and the Vietnam futsal team,” Tran Thai Huy shared.
Thai Huy once scored an important goal to help the Vietnamese futsal team win a ticket to the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup. That was the equalizer 4-4 he scored against the Japanese futsal team in extra time of the quarter-final match of the 2016 Asian Futsal Championship. After that, the Vietnamese futsal team defeated the Japanese futsal team on penalties and reached the World Cup for the first time.
